In 1975, just as Cancun was being carved out of the jungle, INTERMAR CANCUN was born. Better known as IMC, it was the fruit of over 50 years of experience. Guillermo Martinez, our President, grew up in the tourism environment; his father, Mr Francisco Martinez, was one of Mexico's most distinguished tour guides and the creator and promoter of the night tours in Mexico City.

In 1960, the Martinez family moved to the city of Merida and Mr. Francisco Martinez and his wife, Mrs. Josefina Martinez, who also was an experienced tourism executive having worked with several important travel agencies in Mexico City, started their own business. Ever since he was a young boy, Guillermo became fascinated with the world of tourism. After working with his parents, he worked with several local airlines and hotels until, in 1975, he decided to open IMC

On May 15, 1975, IMC opened its doors to the public at the El Presidente Hotel. Guillermo moved to Cancun to start the business and became one of Cancun's pioneers.

IMC has grown a lot since 1975, thanks to the trust that our clients have had in us. Today, GRUPO INTERMAR provides services in Cancun, Cozumel, Riviera Maya, Los Cabos, Campeche and Chetumal. We count with offices and experienced staff. We are also involved in other tourism oriented companies such as hotels, restaurants and cruise boats.
